"Klonk" when I cross the rails of street cars
This
noise seams to come from the left wheel. The silent block was dead. See
picture (the dead one at the left and a used one at the right).
How to repair: Really easy I'm surprised.
-
Jack the car until the wheels do not touch the floor
-
Make the stand safe because you will have to put your harm behind the wheels.
-
Open the hood
-
Find the 2x2 bolds at each sides. 2 bolds are used to be sure that it does
nor unscrew.
-
Unscrew them (2x 14 mm) then remove the plates and the silent block and
remember the order.
-
From inside the wheel compartment you will be enable with reasonable effort
to down the damps so remove the plates and silent block but remember the
order (!)
-
Change the silent block and clean the plates if dead one is partially glued
to.
-
Put the damps in place and put the up er plates and silent-block
-
Screw the stuff like it was before and then finished.
About 20 minutes needed the fist time then perhaps 5 minutes.
