Visit at the Geneva 2001 Motor show (personal visit)

Aston-Martin DB7 Vanquish

The 26th february (at 22:15) was the official launch day for the Aston-Martin DB7 Vanquish in Geneva. Not less than 7 historical cars as DB4GT Zagato, DB3S, DB4 Vantage serie 5 (007's car) where present to remembers what Aston-Martin was before Ford arrival.Click to get the same picture with the invisible man BTW Niki Lauda was there as "asking questions" potential buyer and the big boss of Aston (Ulrich Bez) played the car's seller character.
BTW it was impossible to listen at the V12 music and nobody was allowed to open the bonnet. To me it's like no running engine in there

In 2 words, the car is the true V12 de la DB 7 showed first in  1999.   450 hp @6500. ..now.

Jaguar

40 years ago was launched the E-type first at Geneva motor show. So  "What's uuuuuuuuuup?"
- No nothing special except the new X-Type. If I say nothing special it's because the car seams to be ready for mass production. And 50% of Jag production will be for the X at the end of 2001.
The car look fine on pictures and in touching too. It look like a Jag and the final prize (SFR 50'000.-) will make a best seller soon.
Personally I was surprised by short rear places for passengers. Most of journalist there spent time to check the quality of skin  finishing.

F-Type

No --- thing about it. What a pity ! Reading the official info, 16 change will happen till 2003 and the 16th one is the F-type launch.
(Pictures of  last year)
S-Type R
Haven't seen one.
I suspect that the xj8's could disappear from the next priorities

Rover-Mini

Bigger than the previous one. Perhaps no any bolt in common with the old model.
Newer too, with auto box and plastic look. A funny car.
Waiting for the new Mini Moke ?

(next tomorrow ! sorry it's late.)
